STELLA McCARTNEY

BORN : SEPTEMBER 13, 1971

POSITION : FASHION DESIGNER, ROCK STAR ROYALTY, VEGAN GODDESS

If I were Paul McCartney’s daughter, or any Beatles offspring, it’s entirely possible that I’d pretty much ask daddy for a nice apartment (or three) and stay home binge-watching TV and eating from restaurants who delivered.  And if a restaurant didn’t deliver I might mention my dad was in Wings, you know, not to be too obnoxious, and then if they asked if he were Paul McCartney, I’d shyly say, “Yes, yes he is.”  I wouldn’t be above name-dropping because a) I can’t cook, and b) I’d never leave my apartment because photos with captions like “Sometimes a beetle gives birth to a dog” would hurt my feelings.

Also, as name-dropping goes, McCartney is heavy and loud.  Anyway, my point is, if I were Paul McCartney’s daughter, I’d be happy to spend life in bed and just lounge about in my Beatles DNA.

But not Stella.  She is a wunderkind.  She studied at Central St. Martins (London’s legendary design program) and really learned her craft. Her brand is very successful (she’s worth about $75 million) and it has nothing to do with nepotism.  Women worldwide covet her clothes, shoes, belts, purses, perfume, etc.  She has a multi-million-dollar business, a farm, a husband, and four children.  She did it all on her own, without Daddy’s help and without eating meat or dairy.

Stella’s mother was Linda McCartney, who was born Linda Eastman and who did not break up the Beatles.  Linda’s mother was Louise Sara Eastman (née Lindner), was Jewish, as was her father, Lee Eastman born Leopold Epstein).  Though not religious, Stella self-identifies as a Jew.
